a late 2013 update

ooops!!!

ok, so clearly I'm not the most regular of bloggers!!! would appear that I've 'missed' the whole of 2013...which is weird, as I did actually complete some art work...so, here goes, a short little list of art created:

During the early part of 2013 my friend Charmaine and I attended a life drawing class - our friend Hannah was the model for the evening...like most 'evening' classes, we found finishing work and getting to class on time a struggle, and the late finish pretty much wiped us both out as we only attended the one class.  It was a lovely, albeit brief, opportunity to hone the drawing skills:

Later on in the year, I found myself visiting the BP Portrait Award Exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in London, and once again left promising myself that I would be brave enough to enter one year.  By coincidence, one of my cousins contacted me and asked if I would do a large family portrait drawing...I began by doing some study drawings from a photo she emailed me...

In July I finally got round to taking a few days off the day job and as the weather was so glorious (luckily... too poor to have a break in a nice hot country!!!) I took to doing some study paintings in my garden - heaven!!

Its been part on my 2014 'to do list' to try and get into the studio or work on something creative at least one night a week....its been a bit hit and miss... ooops again!
