used some annual leave to have two days off work this week - what a lovely couple of days they were too!  Spent the whole time finishing off some art work ready for an exhibition at work End of November (hopefully they'll both/all be selected!)  never done quilting before but thoroughly enjoyed it - which is just as well as I've now got 2 orders for a quilted dog and cat blanket! that'll be something to keep me busy after christmas!!

Been a very busy part-time artist recently - got the exhibition dates through (W.C 26th November)...which has scared the beejayzus outta me as thats only 6 weeks away...and also means I only have 6 1/2 weeks of full time paid employment left....eeeek.

So, talk about Opportunity Knocks...my lovely niece is expecting her firstborn and I've been lucky enough to persuade her that 'Baby-bump' casts were a necessity!! I've managed to get 3 done....and its made me realise what an excellent business/employment opportunity I've talked myself into :-)  

So, in an effort to keep the 'unemployment' wolves at bay, I've now got to get the other two baby-bump casts finished and taken out for some 'touting', and the two quilts/comforters I started months ago finished ready for the exhibition in 6 weeks....as well as working full time!!!???!!!  Just as well the nights are fair drawing in now....time to crank up the heating...make vats of tea...and get arting and crafting .... and dream of one day being able to do it all on full time basis...just got to 'sell' some artwork now rather than just give it away in the vain hope that someone else will see it and want to pay for some of their own!!!!  

Got an artist friend who's going to help me build a proper web site for promoting my new art business plans/idea's....so, maybe, just maybe, 2013 will be a more 'rewarding' artistic year?
