Olympic Relay day off...

My friend, Lynne Oliver, was one of the lucky people nominated and chosen to carry the London 2012 Olympic relay torch yesterday through our home town in Kent!!! I took the day off work to watch and cheer her on - unfortunately, I was about 25 meters away from where she started and missed her!!! doh! Today, the torch continues its way through Kent - and was due to go through the beautiful city of Canterbury. Right along the main road I use to get home...at home-time rush-hour!!! So, I took a sneaky day off. I've been industrious and got lots of things done that I've been putting off or just not had time for. One of the 'not had time for' things was to complete a commission of a friend. It felt so good to not feel rushed (the study work had already been done) and to just enjoy some art work. So, here is Mother and Child II (Jenny and Owen), graphite on paper 2012. This is the 2nd piece of work Jenny has commissioned, and I'm hoping that the funds raised will go towards more materials for future works :-)
