trying a Painting-a-day....
I'm trying to do a painting-a-day....it's difficult...real life keeps getting in the way.
There's so much to try and fit into a day: look for a full time job (now that I'm not a student anymore), go to work (my lil part-time job thats trying very hard to keep the bailiffs at bay!!), running a house (ok, so its only me, but that just means I have to do 100% of all the usual housework chores 100% of the time)
But I am sooooooooo enjoying my 'art mornings' at the moment!!! I try to get into my 'studio' (this is just a posh word for a small 6ft square space in the spare room) by 9 - 9.30am and I usually stop at about mid-day...to clean brushes, tidy up and eat before going to work.
Todays offering (the second of a 4 part panel piece) didn't actually take to long, my palette was already sorted from yesterday and having done the previous painting I already had some colours mixed correctly. I even had time to do a very very dodgy rough first draft drawing, just to get a feel of the shape etc.
Have to say that I'm quite pleased with the end result of todays study piece. I love that with glass (or other highly reflective surfaces), you really have to stop and look at the line and colour of the object. It's a long way from perfect I know, but I like it, and at the end of the day, thats all that really matters. :-)
Just gotta figure out what on earth I'm going to put in the other 2 spaces....a bottle(s) of alcohol in one I suspect....and maybe some lemons/limes in the other.....
or
maybe the glass cocktail jug/pitcher in one, and a 'full' cocktail glass.....just to keep the glass/reflective surface going in the series???
hmmmmmmm decisions decisions!!!
