starting afresh...
Went to Tate Britain in London yesterday to see the Henry Moore exhibition...busy but did managed to get one half decent sketch done...which I have used as a study painting, to get my hand back in! I've not done any paintings since December, having got a little distracted by drilling test-tubes and essay writing.
It's only a small study and its not quite completed, but its been a nice way to spend a few hours on a Sunday evening. Hopefully I will be able to keep the painting momentum going while I'm on annual leave for the next few weeks!

The fat lady has sung!

Well that's that then! It's all over. Feedback sheets and final unit marks have been returned, and the postman has delivered the 'student transcript' with the overall final degree results. This single sheet, a computer generated breakdown of achieved grades and final result has gone someway in the last 24 hours to balance out the tutors negative comments, feedback and mark of the final unit - (word from the wise: NEVER produce minimalist/conceptual art when you know 3 'traditional' painters are going to be marking it!!!! they may claim to be balanced and objective, but art medium and art movement preference will out!!!).
1 year Foundation and 3 years BA studying and the outrageous debt accumulated are over and done with. The blood, sweat and tears of pouring your heart and soul (very often literally) into art work has been condensed and reduced down to a single sheet of A4 computer printed paper.
The computer produced paper tells me all I need to know - overall degree grade 2:1 :-)
